Cavity Wall Insulation Installation

Install high-quality cavity wall insulation to improve energy efficiency, lower heating costs, and keep your keep your home comfortable year round.

Cavity Wall Insulation Installation | KIWA Approved, UK-Wide

If your property has never been insulated, or if old insulation has been removed and the cavity is now clear, we install EvoBead EPS bead insulation. EPS beads are one of the most effective and moisture-resistant cavity wall insulation systems available in the UK.

We are KIWA approved cavity wall insulation installers, covering properties across the UK. Every installation comes with a 25-year product guarantee and is backed by our honest, no-pressure approach. We carry out a full suitability assessment first, and if your property isn’t suitable, we will tell you.

What is EvoBead EPS Bead Insulation?

EvoBead is an expanded polystyrene (EPS) bead insulation system and is sometimes referred to as blown cavity wall insulation or bead cavity wall insulation. Small EPS beads are injected into the cavity along with a bonding agent, filling the space completely and forming a stable, moisture-resistant insulation layer.

Unlike traditional mineral wool or blown fibre insulation, EPS beads do not absorb water. This is a critical advantage for UK properties, particularly in the North West where wind-driven rain is a regular feature of the weather. Properties in higher exposure zones are far more likely to experience damp problems from moisture-absorbent insulation; EPS beads avoid this risk entirely.

The system is also referred to as Climabead in some contexts, same technology, same performance standards.

Benefits of EvoBead Cavity Wall Insulation

  • Moisture-resistant: EPS beads do not absorb water, so thermal performance is maintained even in properties exposed to driving rain, unlike mineral wool, which can become saturated and cause the very damp problems it was meant to prevent.
  • Thermally efficient: EvoBead has a superior thermal rating compared to many traditional insulation materials, delivering better energy savings and a noticeably warmer home.
  • Less invasive installation: The EvoBead system requires a reduced drill pattern compared to other methods. This means fewer holes in your external walls and a tidier finish.
  • Long-lasting and stable: EPS bead does not settle, compress, or degrade over time the way some older materials do. It maintains its structure for decades.
  • 25-year product guarantee: Every EvoBead installation we carry out is backed by a 25-year product guarantee, underwritten by independent guarantors.
  • Eco-friendly: EvoBead uses the latest green technologies in raw EPS production, contributing to a lower carbon footprint for your property.

These are not just logos on a website. They represent genuine, independent verification that the work has been done properly and that you are protected if anything goes wrong.

The Cavity Wall Insulation Installation Process

For most properties, cavity wall insulation installation is completed within a day. The process is straightforward and causes minimal disruption:

Pre-Installation Survey

We check the cavity condition, wall construction, and suitability before anything else.

Injection Holes Drilled

Small holes drilled at intervals around the external walls using a reduced drill pattern.

EPS Beads Injected

Beads blown into the cavity with a bonding agent, filling the space completely and evenly.

Holes Sealed and Made Good

All injection points repointed and colour-matched to your existing mortar.

Post-Installation Checks

Confirmation of full cavity fill and consistent coverage throughout.

For properties that have had old insulation extracted, we can install EvoBead as part of the same project. Many of our customers opt for extraction followed by reinstallation with EPS bead as a complete solution.

Is Cavity Wall Insulation Right for Your Property?

Not every property is suitable for cavity wall insulation. The exposure zone, construction type, cavity width, and condition of the external walls all factor into whether installation is appropriate.

Installation is generally suitable where:

  • The property has an unfilled cavity of at least 40mm
  • The external walls are in reasonable condition, with no significant defects in pointing or render
  • The property is not in an extremely severe exposure zone for wind-driven rain
  • The construction type is compatible with cavity fill insulation

We always carry out a thorough suitability assessment before recommending installation. If your property is not a good candidate, we will tell you clearly. We would rather turn down a job than install insulation that is going to cause problems.

How Much Does Cavity Wall Insulation Installation Cost?

Cavity wall insulation cost varies depending on the size and type of property, the cavity condition, and the accessibility of the walls. We provide clear, itemised quotes following the initial survey. There are no hidden charges and no obligation to proceed.

EvoBead is competitively priced compared to other cavity wall insulation systems, and the energy savings over the lifetime of the product more than justify the investment for most properties. Most homeowners see a noticeable reduction in heating costs following installation.

To get an accurate price, get in touch and we will arrange a survey. You can also send photos of the property for an initial assessment.

Areas We Cover for Cavity Wall Insulation Installation

We are based in Manchester and most of our installation work is concentrated across Greater Manchester and the North West, including Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Bolton, Wigan, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Lancashire, Merseyside, and Cheshire, but we regularly travel further afield for all sizes of job.

Cavity Wall Insulation Installation FAQs

What is cavity wall insulation?

Cavity wall insulation is material installed into the gap between the inner and outer leaves of an external wall. Its purpose is to reduce heat loss through the walls, improve energy efficiency, and lower heating costs. In the UK, most properties built from the 1930s onwards have cavity walls, and many of these are either uninsulated or have older insulation that has failed.

Blown cavity wall insulation refers to insulation that is injected or blown into the cavity through small holes drilled in the external wall. EvoBead EPS bead insulation is a blown system, meaning the beads are injected under pressure along with a bonding agent, filling the cavity evenly and completely. It is one of the most effective blown insulation systems currently available.

For a typical semi-detached or terraced property, installation is usually completed within a single day. Larger detached properties may take longer. We will give you a realistic time estimate as part of your quote.

Poorly chosen or badly installed cavity wall insulation can contribute to damp in some properties, particularly mineral wool insulation in high-exposure locations. EvoBead EPS bead insulation is specifically designed to avoid this, as the beads do not absorb moisture. We also carry out a thorough suitability assessment before recommending installation, so we only proceed where we are confident the property is appropriate.

Suitability depends on several factors including wall construction, cavity width, exposure zone, and the condition of the external walls. We carry out a full assessment before recommending any work. If your property is not suitable, we will tell you. We do not install insulation in properties where it is likely to cause problems.

Every EvoBead installation we carry out is backed by a 25-year product guarantee, underwritten by the Insurance Approved Assessors (IAA) and the Guarantee and Defects Guarantee Company (GDGC). Our work also carries KIWA and Quality Mark Protection accreditation.
